The Company, which is a non-profit organisation, has as its sole objective the running of amateur sporting activities and in particular the training, preparation and management of disabled teams, as well as the promotion and organisation of competitions, tournaments and any other sporting activity that follows the rules and regulations issued by the relevant federations and national Olympic and Paralympic sporting bodies.
Santa Lucia Basket has an extraordinary history that began in 1960, packed with prizes and awards: it has won 21 championships, 24 consecutive championship finals, 3 Champion’s Cups and numerous other trophies including the Italian Cup, Super Cup and European Cup, making it the most successful team in Italy.
Today, the management has decided to focus its competitive and promotional activities on training. The aim is to train new players and offer girls and boys with disabilities the chance to play sport, which also supports their overall social integration.
The Serie B team participated in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 season Championships and achieved excellent results. Today, four Santa Lucia Basket players participate in Serie A teams and in the current championship another two players have been called up for the national Under 22 team.
In the 2020/2021 season, Santa Lucia Basket continued the competitive and sporting and social promotion activities currently underway with the formation of Serie B, which have strong roots and growing visibility in the Rome and Lazio areas and within the Paralympic movement.
